We had a great time on Saturday, learning the tricks Kiyoko shared with, eating great sushi made by us!! Everyone so really friendly and patient with us. Would recommend the experience to anyone. Let's just hope we can remember to make sushi on our own!

Sorry it has taken me a while to write to you with some feedback on the sushi workshop. My name is Amanda Weir, and I booked two places at the Your Sushi workshop in Glasgow (Sat 21st August) for my friend Chris and I. Our two friends Claire and Diana also booked the class as it was a present from us all for Chris's 30th birthday. Our chef for the day was Satomi and because she likes to teach small groups, it was just the four of us in the workshop (at her cool flat) which was excellent! Satomi was such a nice person and throughout the class she talked to us about Japanese culture and explained the stories behind the different techniques used in sushi making....like the chef's slapping their hands and banging their sashimi knifes to get rid of excess water...definitely one way to show off when making the sushi for other people!
Satomi is obviously very skilled and has been making sushi for a long time. It was great to watch an expert at work....and it made it easier for us to pick up too. The sushi we made was delicious...and there was lots of it!!! My favourite was definitely the Nigiri sushi as Satomi had raw tuna which I had never tried before but I absolutely loved it! The Temaki sushi (meaning hand roll if I remember correctly!?!) was great to make too and we all said it would be great to make at a party since you just place the ingredients onto the nori and roll into a cone so it's very easy!
I think what I've learned from the class is that the most difficult part of sushi making is cooking the rice - we didn't do this as it would have taken up too much time but watching Satomi prepare the rice made me realise that if the rice isn't cooked properly then the sushi just won't be any good. So I look forward to giving that a go!!
Anyway to summarise, we had the best day ever at the class, Satomi was a brilliant teacher and the sushi tasted amazing. The class actually ran over by an hour which we were more than happy about (we would have stayed there all day making and eating sushi!!) :o) and we took lots of pictures to impress our friends with our skills! We had so much fun and can't wait to have a go at making sushi in our own kitchens!! I would recommend this class to anyone who loves sushi, especially if there is a group of friends wanting to learn together.
We can't rate Satomi highly enough, she was the perfect teacher and it was lovely to meet her!

Dear Sophie, I attende the Sushi lesson with Satomi in Queenspark, Glasgow. From the outset it was a superb expereicne. Satomi was very welcoming, an excellent hostess and tutor. she made me feel very relaxed and welcomed me and the other students to her homw with grace and charm. Her preparation was excellent and she gave very good instructions throughout the session. She was calm, helpful and supportiveparticularly when I did not get things quite right. She encouraged all of us to produce high quality food and offered an insight into Japanese culture and the importance of colour in the food as well as the importance of quality tips in preparation. She exuded confidence and made the whole experience very enjoyable. She had a very good sense of humour and dealt well with the mixed ability group. I have taught for 38 uears and been a Head Teacher for 20. In that time I have observed and worked with many teachers. I found Satomi to be in the excellent group. I will endeavour to put her teaching into practice and I will most certainly make and eat more Sushi!

My daughter (aged 10) and I had a wonderful afternoon at the sushi course in Leeds yesterday. I must've eaten at least £10 worth of sushi throughout the course (that's how many rubbish ones I made that needed eating to get rid of the evidence of my poor worksmanship!) & there must be about £20+ left in the fridge(plus ...the same again which my daughter made!). By the end of the course we had all made the most amazing amount of stunning looking and delicious sushi which would even whoop the ass of the fanciest Waitrose platter! I would recommend this course to anyone, not just established sushi lovers. Thank you Kiyoko for a great afternoon.

I was pretty excited when my family gave me -as a present for my birthday- a sushi class. I expected many things from the class, but everything I learned exceeded my expectations. Emmanuel, was a brilliant teacher,fun and has that personality that makes youunderstand everything easily. He also was very kind and patient... and all the time he tried to make sure that you were fine and having good time.The group was also an asset. UPDATE: As per Emmanuel's advice, I've just spent the evening practising slicing salmon for nigiri and then threw the whole lot into a fish pie. I have enjoyed the class beyond my expectation. Chef Rolland-san absolutely knows his craft. I thought when signed up it is going to be classic teaching class. However, it was much more than that. It was fun, friendly. I was introduced to a bit of sushi history. I have learnt so many tricks. The chef was jolly, made me see... the art of making sushi. Hi Emmanuel, the sushi class on Saturday was excellent. My wife was very impressed with her surprise birthday treat, and Satomi made an excellent teacher. She had obviously made quite a bit of effort in her preparation, and the quality and variety of the ingredients was superb. Her class included the preparation and cooking of rice, and even how to buy sushi quality raw fish ! And, best of all, she gone out and bought Sanchi Tamari gluten free soy sauce, especially for my wife. These small touches can make all the difference, and it was greatly appreciated. Also, I plan to make some sushi to take for lunch at work throughout the week. I
f I make some on Sunday and keep it in the fridge (maybe freezer?) how long would you recommend keeping it before it should be thrown away (I imagine different fillings with different expiry dates have an impact). Do you ever pre prepare sushi for a later date?

Saturday night's tea was fab thanks to the fresh Sushi prepared earlier that day. I really enjoyed the group lesson and appreciated the knowledge and techniques you were able to pass on in such a relatively short period of time.
I've set my self the challenge of preparing Sushi in front of my wife, for this Saturday's tea, so that she can have a go too. I bought a starter pack from you so I have the basics, however, I am struggling to get hold of the pickled raddish- Daikon. Do you know of any suppliers in or around the Stockport/High Peak area?

The lesson was a surprise for Adele, greast evening and lots of Sushi...as usual!

I had a one to one class and it's was fantastic, I made some excellent Sushi and I have continued making Sushi since. The lesson was not rushed and it covered every part of Sushi making it was the best money I have spent on a day out. well worth it. Thank you Hajime, great teacher!

Dan and Sara came for a lesson as a couple. They always had a passion for Sushi and their dream came true when they managed to make their own rolls...roll on Sushi lovers!

My hen party was a great success thank you! We all learnt how to make sushi whilst having a lot of fun. It still amazes me to see how something that looks so delicate is actually so easy to do once you know how!
